Blackthorn Golf Academy provides South Bend with a unique blend of on-course instruction and a situational practice method that brings results. We employ the Identify-Teach-Practice technique:

Identify

We identity both the positive and detracting elements of your game utilizing various physical activities along with side by side video comparisons to various PGA and LPGA professionals.

Teach

We personally guide every step of your development using simple every day sciences, side arms sports and human body mechanics.




Practice

Perfecting the correct technique along w/specific practicing methods & instructions with an assortment of at home, on the course and practice facility drills. It’s about quality not quantity.

Our Academy includes:

Tour quality full swing and short game practice facilities, including a private tee and pitching area.


V1 Golf video swing analysis, equipment assessment, utilizing the latest launch monitor technology and TaylorMade fitting system.


Long game and short game areas offer the exceptional practice environment with three large practice greens and championship caliber driving range.

Individual Junior

Novice to elite hourly & weekly developmental programs provided. 

JUNIOR CAMPS

Consists of an optimum array of team building exercises while meeting each individual Golfers needs from novice to elite. 

Each Golfer gains first hand playing experience knowledge of golfs history, equipment & course etiquette. 10-1 Coach to player ratio.

Junior Camp Registration

At Blackthorn Golf Academy we believe love of the game knows no age and that it actually begins very early. To promote and grow the game of golf, we’re offering a great summer camp experience for students between the ages of 6 and 13. We offer a fun, positive group environment with team competitions and prizes all week long.

Join us this summer for a fun-filled week of golf instruction

Golfers coming to Blackthorn this summer will learn the fundamentals of the game from our instructional staff and coaches who have years of experience on the course. We also place a big emphasis on learning the values and integrity upon which the game of golf was created.

At the end of each camp session on Friday, we have lunch for the kids and an awards ceremony. So take dead aim at the pin and sign up for a great week of golf at South Bends premier golf course and practice facility.


All camp sessions include comprehensive instruction, covering all aspects of golf from certified golf professionals and including: on-course play one day in the week with a

Full-swing balance, power, and in-swing principles are also part of the instructional process.

Addressing the short game, our instructors teach the basics of putting, chipping, pitching, and bunker play.

Learn the rules of golf, history of the game, golf etiquette, and club fitting, plus many life values we learn through sports!

Individual and team competitions with prizes from local businesses.

TEEN

Weekly & hourly developmental programs are provided.  Expert customization to meet both novice & elite student athletes alike. 

ADULT

Visual, verbal, logical & physical learning skills are employed.

Our combined goal is to strengthen yours positives & eliminate your negatives, while making you your own best teacher. 


SHORT GAME SCHOOL

3/4 of your scoring ability is derived from putting, sand play, chipping, pitching & your distance wedge game.

Together we can instantly improve & lower your scores by understanding & developing solid fundamentals & skills in these areas.
